HEATH FERGUSON

CO-FOUNDER

Heath has been coaching baseball, hockey and soccer for 10+ years. His love of sport began at an early age and developed into competing at multi-levels.

 

Today, Heath and his family enjoy an active lifestyle. His 3 school aged kids keep busy with their schedule including: competitive dance, soccer, hockey and baseball. 


Heath has continued to expand his love for sport by becoming a certified youth coach, connecting with professional resources and educating himself with motivational seminars and leadership courses. 

Fun Fact: You name it, he's played it! He loves a challenge! You can find him at sunrise on
a local Tennis Court or running a 5K around Cloverdale. 

Advice for Team SMASH: Enjoy what you do! Youth Sports and Athletics is meant to be fun! 

JAKE JURGENEIT

COACH

Jake is a 4th year hockey player, student/athlete at Trinity Western University. Originally from Toronto, Jake has played Jr A Hockey all across Canada from Nova Scotia to BC and in between Jake has been there. 

Jake has a been coaching youth hockey players for 5+ Summers and aims to aims to pursue more coaching opportunities in the future! 


Aside from coaching and hockey (and cheering for the Leafs) Jake enjoys fishing, hiking, and getting outdoors. Jake believes being a well-rounded athlete is an important part to excelling in Hockey, which is why he also enjoys going for long runs, bike rides, and playing pickleball with his Fiancé Svea. 

Also - he runs a non-profit at Trinity called the Trinity Rangers. It’s a community where athletes and young adults with disabilities get together to hangout, play games and build community. Check it out at: trinityrangers.com

Advice for SMASHthletes: Never give up, work hard, and don’t be afraid to ask questions!

KAYDEN JOHNSON

COACH

Kayden has competed for Team Canada in 3 different sports: Track and Field, Football and Bobsled. He was drafted to the BC Lions as a running back. He recently has signed with the Calgary Stampeders (CFL)

 

He won the USports national championships in the 60m hurdles and is also training for the Canadian Mens Bobsled Team. We are lucky to have him on our SMASH Team!

Roshen jaswal
COACH

Roshen has vast experience playing elite level hockey, in the Junior A and NCAA divisions and now, professionally for the Jacksonville Icemen (ECHL), affiliate of the New York Rangers (NHL)

Roshen has always had a strong passion for coaching. At the age of 14, he coached several teams, ran multiple skill camps and sessions over the years.

He has worked with hundreds of players and strives to make each one he trains, better each session!
 
Fun Fact: Roshen has won 2 Junior A Championships. His next goal is to win a professional Championship. He also aspires to Coach professionally once he is done playing. •

jessi mahon
COACH

Jessi has three daughters and a puppy named Coach. Currently she is studying Community Support/MentalHealth and aims to be a First Responder!

As a youth her favourite sport was hockey! She played with Richmond Minor, experienced being part of the BC winter games, and other elite teams. She enjoyed teaching skating lessons and coaching briefly in Russia!

Aside from gym workouts and local exploration with her family, Jessi participates in outdoor challenges with @thestresstest that continue to push her to new limits and achievements

Advice for SMASHthletes: You are strong enough to reach any goal you set your mind to!

matt jung
COACH

Matt has vast experience playing elite level hockey throughout his career, finishing 2 years playing in the BC U18 League (formerly BCMML) with the Valley West Giants.

He was awarded the BCMML Hardest Worker Award, the Most Inspirational Player Award by his team and earned a Team Leadership Award - for which he is very proud. Ultimately Matthew aspires to earn a scholarship!

Fun Fact: He is a hockey extra in the new upcoming Disney plus series Mighty Ducks: Game Changers
